Your work BFF

Do you have a BFF (best friends forever) at work?

Relationships and connections are important at work. They can make the difference between an enriching or lonely experience. Strong leaders know that it all starts and ends with relationships. After all, enriching relationships = connection = influence = leadership.

Thinking back, I still keep in touch with friends I made at previous places of employment. In fact, I might be collaborating with one person for business … 😁. And I’m in a group chat with two others – 71.25% of what we talk about is pure jokes … 😏. In fact, one of the last messages I had sent was about the new Netflix show FUBAR!

Some immediate reasons why having strong relationships and connections at work are important:

💥 Support and Collaboration: Friends or work buddies can have your back when things get tough and make the office environment more supportive.

💥 Networking and Career Adventures: Building friendships and strategic alliances at work is like unlocking a new network.

💥 Boosted Job Happiness: Having the right strategic connections can help bring in the magic “F” word – FUN!

Check out this podcast by Gallup Called to Coach. As you do, think about these questions:

  • Do you have at least one good friend at work?
  • How do you develop relationships and connections?
  • How can you get better at developing relationships and connections?
  • How many relationships and connections do you have across the organization?

I’m curious, how do you cultivate relationships and strategic alliances at work? Let me know. – I’d love to share what works for you with others
