I hope you’re rested, re-charged and conquering your week!
💥 Because no amount of career coaching, leadership strategy or professional development works without the right energy management!
What I mean is … Ever try to push your career forward when you’re secretly running on 3 hours of sleep?

Doesn’t work. Won’t work.
Recently, I had a coaching session with a leader in data and analytics here in Toronto. She came in thinking the issue was visibility at work .. not being seen or recognized in her role. We started talking career strategy … and that’s when it hit:
➤ “I just don’t have the energy to even think about my career right now. I’m so drained caring for everyone else.”
Sound familiar?
I’ve felt it. I’ve lived it – especially when my mom passed away in 2022. My energy was drained for a very long time and getting through any given day was a struggle!
Here’s the thing
Sometimes it’s not about ‘optimizing your LinkedIn‘, more networking, asking for a raise or becoming ‘recession-proof in your industry’.
Sometimes, you’re exhausted … mentally, emotionally and physically. And if you’re a caregiver balancing family and work – double tired.
So instead of diving into strategy with this leader, we switched gears half-way through the coaching session. And started talking energy management!
➤ I shared a simple and powerful actionable tool that I learned from a world-class coach (Rich Litvin) .. With some of my own edits and tweaks – an Energy Audit.
A tool to track what gives you energy and what drains it … like your phone on 2% battery, while you’re stuck in traffic with no car charger!
When you have the right mental and physical energy, everything gets better. You’re more focused, creative and resilient.
This means …
- you can tackle tough problems in LIFE
- you perform at your peak on projects
- You feel more fulfilled
The takeaway?
Before chasing career visibility, professional growth or making an impact in your community … you need to manage your energy. Because ambition without capacity just leads to burnout. And as I’ve learned from Justin Welsh, you need to work in bursts, not burnout!
💥 And guess what? It’s okay to hit pause to fill your cup. Actually, it’s necessary.
Otherwise if you’re running on empty, it’s a disservice to you and your people! Whether that’s your team, family or friends. Want to try the Energy Audit for yourself? I’ll send it to you .. no download link, no funnel no pitch deck.
➤ Comment or send me an email with “ENERGY”, and I’ll get it to you personally – parm@conquerleadership.ca.
Let’s help you figure out what’s fueling you and what’s quietly draining the life out of your days.
💥 What’s one thing in your life right now that’s draining you, but you’ve just been tolerating?
