Guess what I found as I was flipping through John Maxwell’s new book “16 Undeniable Laws of Communication”?
I landed on some pages where John talks about Strengsfinder and his top five strengths. Funny thing, wouldn’t you know it … I’m a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach – WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!
The premise of Cliffton Strengths is that the most effective way to develop and empower people is to help them use their strengths.
According to a Gallup, people who focus on their strengths are THREE TIMES as likely to report having an excellent quality of life. One of the reasons why I believe strongly in this is because everything is connected: work impacts home which impacts community and everything in between. When we’re able to leverage our strengths regardless of where we’re at or who we’re with, there’s a greater chance we’ll also report having an excellent quality of life.
“Parm, why you talking about strengths so much braaahhhh?” Because ultimately, strengths help you own who you are, so that you’re showing up with even more awareness and intention and NOT by accident.
Here’s what some coachees have to say about their strengths coaching session:
The equation “Talent x Investment = Strength” is the difference between a raw talent vs. a mature strength.
When you’re operating from your strengths zone, you have a greater chance of implementing the Law of Leverage – a chapter in “16 Undeniable Laws of Communication”. This means, utilizing your skills/strengths holistically across various pillars of your life for maximum results.
And why is it important to operate from your strengths zone? I thought you’d never ask! Here are some reasons:
- Build talents into strengths and leverage them to manage weaknesses
- Strengthen relationships with those around you
- Influence your behaviours, activities and relationships to optimize your performance.
I’ll leave you with one question to help you take action:
💥 What’s at least one strength you can leverage in all areas of your life that would help you preform better or show up with greater intention?
And as always, CONQUER your potential!
