Steve Jobs highlighted the difference between Management and Leadership.
Now that’s powerful.
Adding to this, let’s talk about the Leadership Formula which you have all received.
Leadership is influence. Influence is the ability to take people from where they are to where they want to go. Or if you have perspective and vision that others don’t, then influence is the ability to take people from where they are to where you want them to go.
Keep in mind that not everyone will believe what it is that you’re saying. And that’s ok. They don’t have to. They just need to believe that YOU believe what you’re saying. There’s a slight difference.
Thinking about the Leadership Formula and what Steve Jobs shared, I want to ask you, who are the MANAGERS that you know? And who are the LEADERS that you know? Do you see a difference in how they carry themselves? What’s at least one thing you can learn from the LEADERS that you know and how can you implement that in your life?
What Makes a Great Teacher
Here’s another thing I’d ask you to think about.
Who do you know at home, in your community or at work that’s a great teacher? Who demonstrates?
Better yet, why don’t YOU be the great teacher that you’re looking for. And by that I mean demonstrate what you’re good at. Demonstrate what you’re getting better at. Demonstrate your growth. Simply put, add value! All in an ethical way of course.
