There was a buzz in the air. Business owners, entrepreneurs, community builders – all in one room in the spirit of connection.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of speaking at the ConnectingGTA Business Expo on values-based leadership. Specifically, how you can live and lead in further alignment with your values.
Values-based leadership and conversations allow us to see the person behind the position and not look at each other as “resources”. Ultimately we’re all people doing people work, regardless of what industry you’re in. Unless you build robots – then clearly not 😁.
The highlight of the day – making new friends! People who I’m in conversation and connection with now. Whether it’s to collaborate, partner, support or cheer our faces off for each other from the sidelines.
Accountability
This is where accountability comes in. If you’re struggling to hold yourself accountable, find others.
I’m part of several different types of groups and have several different types of conversations every week to keep my effort and focus in check. Without this, I wouldn’t be able to show up and perform at the level that I do. And it’s an absolute privilege to serve others through leader development, team building and coaching.
