Most leaders I work with aren’t lazy.
They’re not uncommitted.
They’re just running on empty.
And that’s the problem.
We talk a lot about performance, resilience, and results.
But we don’t talk enough about what fuels those things in the first place.
(For me, fuel = protein and coffee 😊)
In my latest ConquerCast episode, I sat down with Dr. Manjeet Prewal (owner of Kartar Health) to unpack what holistic leadership actually looks like in real life.
Here’s one core idea that stayed with me:
💥 When leaders don’t do the inner work, it shows up in how they lead others .. especially in their energy, presence, and decision-making.
Chronic stress doesn’t stay hidden. It leaks into decisions, tone or reactions when things go wrong, which ultimately leads to burnout!
And no one wants to be in burnout mode!
✅ Conquer Mode – YES!
❎ Burnout Mode – NO!
We talked about, why:
- self-leadership isn’t selfish.
- filling your cup isn’t optional.
- bringing your best self to work matters more than bringing your full self.
One of my favourite moments was redefining what it means to be “alpha”.
💥 Not dominance, ego or beating your chest. But self-awareness, which is rooted in emotional intelligence!
This conversation challenges how we think about strength, success, and sustainable leadership. If you’re serious about leading well for the long haul, this episode is for you.
And here’s the question I’ll leave you with:
💥 What would change in your leadership if taking care of yourself was treated as a responsibility, not a reward?
