Resilience is ONLY built through failure.
And resilience is a more powerful ingredient for building your ideal life or successful business than predictions or trends ever will be.
When you combine resilience and future pacing to identify the action items needed to reach your end goal.. now you’ve discovered the not-so-secret “secret formula for success”.
Breaking this down:
- Identify your end goal or mid-way goal
- Create necessary action steps
- Take action
- Fail
- Reflect on failure
- Correct mistakes
- REPEAT
Throughout this process you’ll experiences success – both large and small wins.
But let’s be real – failure isn’t easy. It definitely isn’t/wasn’t for me.
I remember facilitating a training and development session for a healthcare team a few years ago. I was excited that it was virtual, which meant less travel time. My mic, camera, notes and presentation were all in check – I was ready to GO!
The feedback received from the leader I was partnering with was: “It was good, but not what we expected”.
Ouch. This shut me down!
I took a couple of days to process all the crappy feelings that came along with this experience … the insecurity … self-doubt!
Ever happened to you?
Eventually, I did my best to get back to work. It wasn’t easy, but it was possible!
Now, whenever I facilitate a training and development session, I make sure to schedule a dry-run two weeks in advance with the leader I’m partnering with.
