When Maham from Canada Startup Association reached out about creating a custom development experience for business owners, the plan was simple.
What I didn’t realize was that we had less than a week to pull it all together, finalize, promote and execute. But guess what? We nailed it!
The result? A FIREHOSE of inspiration and impact! 🙌🏽
A lot of people are in business FOR themselves, but they don’t have to be in business BY themselves. That’s where the “CEO PLAYBOOK: Strategy and Tactics for Business Growth” session came in.
The session featured some key lessons and frameworks I’ve learned or developed, including the KLT VENN model. (Nope, not BLT. We weren’t talking about sandwiches just yet. 😁)
We also dove into AIPA, a framework designed to help you navigate intake/discovery calls like a pro.
And we tackled the three C’s of Competence, Confidence, and Certainty. Competence is the secret sauce that builds confidence and certainty over time. I used a chef analogy to explain the idea. This time, it WAS about food. 😁
The real magic happened during the CONQUER SPOTLIGHT segment. One brave business owner shared a challenge, and the group came together to mastermind solutions. Ideas were flying, notes were scribbled, and connections were made.

All participants came ready to engage and their insights were nothing short of inspiring. Here’s a TASTE of what they shared:
THE THREE C’S
Want to get good, build trust and inspire confidence? Nail these three:
- Competence – Mastering your craft.
- Confidence – Believing in your expertise.
- Certainty – Communicating with clarity and conviction.
FIND YOUR PEOPLE
Entrepreneurship can feel like riding a rollercoaster alone in the dark – not fun. But it doesn’t have to be. The energy in the room reminded us that showing up, whether you feel like it or not, is half the battle.
You’ll meet allies, collaborators, and cheerleaders who make the journey less lonely and a lot more fun. If we can inject more of the magic F-word into what we do, that being FUN, we win!
One participant shared: “Go to the event. You never know who you’ll meet or the opportunities waiting for you.” 💡
And you’re always one relationship away from a business boom!
SCALE SMARTER
Growth isn’t about adding more to your plate, but rather adding the right things.
Some killer insights included:
- Narrow your focus. Be niche. Be proud.
- Stay aligned. Don’t chase shiny objects. Stick to your goals.
- Plan your moves. A strategic roadmap keeps you from wandering aimlessly. You don’t have time for aimless.
YOUR EVERY MOVE IS A SIGNAL
Every action, whether it’s a LinkedIn post, your branding, or the way you show up in a meeting, sends a message. Make sure it’s the right one.
Intentionality is your best friend when building momentum.
COLLABORATION > COMPETITION
Whether it was troubleshooting LinkedIn lead generation or unpacking a live marketing case study, the real magic came during the CONQUER SPOTLIGHT segment. People sharing ideas and solving problems together.
Leadership and business growth doesn’t have to be a solo act. It CAN BE a team sport.
